adult content filtering? huh?

I realize I'm probably very much behind the times here, but why are some people's journals now indiscriminately clothed in adult content warning cut tags?

Current Mood: quixoticquixotic

Apparently it has to do with the maturity level setting (or lack thereof) of the journal in question versus the age/maturity filter setting of the viewer. Here's a FAQ entry.

livejournal covering its butt.

go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

and change your adult content settings.

I know it's possible to self-mark your entries (which I've done to one or two of mine). I'm curious how they determine to mark a whole journal, if that's what you're saying?... I haven't seen it myself yet.

It's in the LJ settings someplace. I've marked mine as all Adult Content, just to be on the safe side, rather than forget and have LJ nuke my account on a whim.

That reminds me...I wanted to invite you to the Attrition fan group that PW and I started, and I couldn't, because you have not specified a birth date on your profile. That's also why you are seeing the adult content filtering messages. LJ doesn't know how old you are. Note that according to LJ, I am a mere 99 years old;)

OK, I fixed it.

hey, I'm over here now...

Finally added you. :)
