At 2am, I woke up out of the blue. The lower half of my throat was completely raw, swallowing was painful, and I was suffering from hot and cold flashes. I called mom, who came and got me by 3am. The rest of my night (at mom's) was fitful, as I kept waking up as my body changed from hot to cold or cold to hot (frequently). Plus, I've had to pee a lot. So, I didn't get much sleep last night.
I went to the doctor's office today, no strep. Just a viral sore throat as it looks now, but they are going to keep a culture just in case. By the time I got out of the doctor's office, mind you, my sore throat had spread to being all the way up into my mouth. But, I'm drinking a lot of ginger ale, eating soft foods, and trying to nap a lot (same problems from last night still going though).
I know it's clear I have the flu now, but the thing that gets me about it is just how fast it hit me, and how fast it's spread. I was pretty much fine at 11pm last night, sick by 2am, and completely wiped by 4pm. I think I *might* finally be feeling a bit better now, but it could just be momentary delusions of wellness... but I guess I can hope this flu leaves as quickly as it came.
Sigh, I hate being sick.
