Neat site showing a bunch of the old "moving pictures" from the turn of the last century filmed in New York City here. These are pure documentary from the time when America was just becoming an economic power, and the rumours of its streets paved with gold were rampant. Indeed, one of the films is of Ellis Island's immigration. The one I'm watching now is the building of the NYC Skyscrapers. Just neat stuff. It's a glimpse into our world when technology was just budding in the era of Industrialization, and people are fascinated with it all.

Also, discovery: one of the films is at the front of a train as it pulls away from the station, and some way into the ride. Noisex's "Rotation" was playing while I was watching this, and boy are they perfect together.

So, all my plans got bolloxed this weekend. You see, I got home this morning, looked down, and realized fleas were using my feet as a diving board for their artistic jumps into my carpet. Well, guess Maxx brought something else in from the outside.

Well, I'll be at the going away BBQ tomorrow for bsdcat because he's, well, going away. But most other plans are cancelled as I undertake the massive quest of cleaning up my entire house. I have one room done so far -- my bedroom. And boy does it actually look really nice. Like, better than it has *ever* looked. Now to make the rest of the house that way.

On the bright side, I got a steam cleaner for the task. My house will be clean, dammit.
