The Real Islam

An interview with an expert on Islam and the Arabic world; interesting for its explanation of Saudi Arabia's role in 9/11 and our dependence on its oil.
White House Notebook: Many Willing, But Few Are Able

Notes on the list of the Coalition of the Willing... but they don't mention,

Amusingly told there with references, looks like the Solomon Islands didn't even know it was on the list and has pulled out.

In personal news:

Found out this is the 16 year old son of one of my class buddies. He's seen here being pushed around, she said he'd been pulled from the crowd where he was talking to friends, beaten on the ground, and arrested. (Last Thursday's protest.)

I'm talking to a lawyer tomorrow; I'm doing two protests this coming weekend, and I'd like to be able to say, "You can talk to my lawyer," if I am arrested. I will note that I will continue to avoid arrest at all costs, my wrist is definitely not up for being handcuffed; and I doubt anyone would pay attention to my "Look, my wrist was broken, please be careful.."

And, I haven't even gotten to my news feeds yet.

So, hrmm.

The lawyer was a no-show. He just lost a client, and me a lawyer. Alas.

By the way, for local folks, Antiquity is tomorrow night.
