This whole stalking your shipment thing rules.

So, I bought a digicam on ebay this week. Thus, you will be seeing lots of pictures from me soon. However, this is not why I'm posting, since I pretty much abhor listings of bought possessions like it's some sort of status and/or identity symbol. No, there is another reason.

I have discovered UPS tracking info on the web. This is totally and utterly fascinating to me. My camera left Ithaca at 8:03pm last night, arriving in Buffalo at 11:51pm, then leaving there at 3:10am. I am anxiously awaiting the next update, I predict the checkpoint will be Erie before it heads south. I mean, I'm seriously fascinated by this.

So I got to thinking. What if I were to order something from somewhere, and have someone else do that as well. Could we start betting on who gets their shipment first? Or even just order one item, then stage bets on when/where the next checkpoint will be. It's like horse racing, but modernized for the digital millenium!

Or maybe I'm just so much of a geek that this stalking of my UPS package completely and utterly captivates me.
