Yup, it's that time of year again! It's time to sign up for NanoWriMo! For those few who are unfamiliar, this is a contest challenging participants to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. You start from scratch on November 1st, and the deadline to turn it in is November 30th. 30 days, 50K words. It's all about quantity, not quality.

And it's that last line that has me tempted to try this. I type fast, and I know that 1500 words a day is easy output for me. The problem I have with creative writing is that I am *terrible* with plot arcs.. and really... plot development at all. Since I've been more of a GM when RPGing lately (which is to say, still rarely, but more than none), I need to work on this idea. Well, spending a month writing a novel with some sort of plot in it seems like a great idea for me to work on this idea. It doesn't need to be good, just big!

Anyone else thinking of doing this with me?

You may wish to contact my lj friend "Jainabee," this will be her 3rd nano-wrimo IIRC. Just sent her an envelope of random words & images which she will draw from in case of block...

best of luck!

I've been vividly dreaming a lot lately, so I think what I'm going to do is just draw from a number of those and tie them together. Will see, I'm not really worried about it making that much sense. :)

dunno. I was going to do basically that -- just write each chapter in vi, then import into word for formatting at the end of the chapter.

I am strongly thinking about throwing my hat in the ring, yes.

So much so that I've signed up as, wait for it: "Doc Blue".

Sweet! I am there, predictably, as "gwenix".

Hey, let me know when Sarah and Alex get to your place so that I have some idea of when they're moving along to here. :)
